Dr. Stephen Beckerman, O.D., F.A.A.O. is a graduate from Washington University in St. Louis. He received his Bachelor's degree in Applied Science in Electrical Engineering. His doctoral work was performed at the State University of N.Y. College of Optometry. Dr. Beckerman completed his fellowship at the Illinois College of Optometry specializing in Low Vision and Pediatrics/Binocular Vision. He is currently an Associate Professor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry teaching in the primary care and pediatrics/binocular vision clinics.
With over 20 years as head of the Sports Vision program at the Illinois College of Optometry, and for his involvement with the AAU Junior Olympics Sports Vision Testing Program, Dr. Beckerman has been named Sports Vision Optometrist of the Year by the American Optometric Association. Dr. Beckerman is also in expert in Sports Vision and received the Craig McFarlane Award from Prevent Blindness America for designing the Special Olympics Screening Program. |
